Hello!

I'm Gia Gorman

I am a teen mom and undergraduate honors student studying for a bachelor's in Criminal Justice and Homeland Security, minoring in Pre-Law, at Dean College in Franklin, Massachusetts. Since starting my journey, I have taken advantage of many chances, and in return, I am the student and researcher I always desired to be!

My Journey So Far

Since earning my HiSET in October of 2024, I have gone on to achieve many big accomplishments as a teen mother. While typically only 2% of teen mothers go back to college and get a degree by 30 I am proud to announce I am on that same track.

After enrolling into Dean College for their Spring 2025 semester, I have achieved within that time my spot in Dean College's honors program, as well as nationally within the Nation Society for Leadership and Success (NSLS) to take advantage of their training and networking advantages.

Outside of campus, I have been recognized as not only a Developing Scholar for the Global Association for Human Trafficking Scholars (GAHTS) but also as a Translational Workgroup Member. These two roles help fight against human trafficking through research, advocacy, and dissemination of new research to survivors and other experts. I am working on getting an IRB-approval for my research article on the criminal motives and factors for human trafficking. To better my writing, research, and reporting skills, I have taken on Yellowbrick.co's NYU Modern Journalism Certificate Program and anticipate to finish before May 2026.
